Marketing channels

Channels are a necessary component in the marketing of all and services in all organizations. Producers need marketing channels for mainly three important reasons.
First, channels take care of the transaction aspects of marketing including the selling, the financing, and the risk taking associated with storing products in anticipation of future sales.
Second, they perform the logistical function of moving products from the point of production to the point of purchase.
Third, they help producers promote goods and services. Marketing channels also benefits customers. By giving customers and organizations access to the right products, in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity, channels make products more valuable and the buying process more efficient.
