SWOT ANALYSIS

Strength:
1. Fund manager’s skills: Investing the funds in the various debt schemes through fund manager is one of the strength for HDFC Mutual Fund as they have to constantly look upon a well diversified sector for optimal and maximum return
2. Portfolio Management: Investment is made in diversified securities with varying maturity period so as to provide reasonable and less risk returns to the investors.
3. Innovative ideas: The management has innovative and objective oriented ideas regarding investments as mutual fund provides different schemes like short term cash funds schemes and long term floaters.
4. High Net worth Investors: - that shows signs of attracting valuable customers which embark prospectivity for long.
Weaknesses:
1. Insignificant information pertaining to Mutual Fund and no market rising trend for investment.
2. Management is least aware regarding advertising strategies to publicize the products that could reach the customers mind to invest in it.
Opportunities:
1. Security Transaction Tax: -the investment made by any of the investor is exempted from security transaction tax .
2. Long term investment benefits provided by the debt house not only gives a faster growth of NAV but also provides long term capital gain tax benefits.
3. Liquidity as to provide high liquidity as the amount can be drawn any time with a lock of just 6 months in few schemes.
Threats:
1. Good competition by big named challengers in the industry
2. To face competition from other supporting financial services such as Insurance
3. There may be rise in inflation
RECOMMENDATIONS
Following recommendations have been obtained after the completion of the summer training which may of significant help to the company: -
1) There should be a constant publicity measure be adopted for the benefits of property dealers as they will get to know the benefits of the mutual fund investment.
2) As the competition is big and tough, efforts should be made in the positive direction to capture large customers with long term growth prospective ness.
3) Company should target small net worth holders and accordingly maintain the long term prospective high net worth clientele.
4) There should be open more branches to easy access of the data.
