Where the new industrial policy has shown bright opportunities by opening the business doors to the whole world, it has also thrown certain business into darkness. These were those, which could not sustain in the highly competitive environment.
When it comes to the textile industry, a lot many small-scale industries were working in this industry since long. There were a number of people engaged in yarn and fabric making. But, because of globalization, fierce competition entered the industry and these small businesses could not survive.
60 lac spindle mills closed down because of globalization. Modern Group of Textiles’ 8 mills were closed down because they could not survive in the competition.
Today, quality and costs are required to meet global levels, and towards fulfilling this demand, the overheads per meter are increasing in India. In countries like China and Japan, the level of land is of mountaineering nature. But because of the dedication and honesty of its incumbents, it is leading the world. While in India, people are bound in cultural boundaries and are also less mobile. Along with this, corruption and red-tapism are in vague.
Contribution of the unit to the industry
From amongst the total global textile market, 20% is covered by India. And Banswara stands 8th in rank of composite textile mills in India. BSL, has thus earned a place for it, in the textile industry is working effectively and efficiently, increasing its contribution day-by-day and meeting global levels of quality and costs.
