Mr. R.L. Toshniwal, a post graduate in Textiles from Leeds University, England, Chairman and Managing Director, Banswara Syntex Limited, returned to India in the early 70s. He joined the Birla Group as production chief and was responsible for setting up their two units for spinning blended yarn, in Jammu and Rahasthan.
After gaining hands-on experience, he started his own mill at Banswara in Rajasthan, in 1976, jointly with RIICO. It’s commercial production started in 1978 with an installed capacity of 12,480 spindles. Now, the capacity has expanded up to 50,000 spindles and 82 sulzer projectile, Rapier and Airjet looms.
The company is an ISO 9002 accredited composite textile unit, with their own spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing plant, all with state of the art machinery to produce quality of international standards. The Government of India recognizes the company as an “Export Trading House”. The company’s quality standards has been accepted in the international market and its exports are increasing tremendously 80% of the fabric and 40% of the yarn produced by the company is exported to various countries including developed countries like U.S.A., U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, as well as Gulf countries.
Banswara Syntex is amongst the biggest Indian exporters of poly viscose and blended fabrics. The company has been consistently awarded Best Performance Award in exports in synthetic blended fabrics since 1996. The company produces, poly viscose blended fabrics up to a capacity of 1 million metre per month, which is exported, to over 80 countries. In order to cope with the highly competitive export market, the company has time to time modernized and renovated its plant and machinery. Lycra with best stretch and good crease recovery, poly wool viscose yarn blended with Lycra, fire retardant polyster yearn, fibers that are wrinkle free, scented fabrics, poly denim lycra are the latest addition to the list of innovative products.
